Nearly all organizations believe their people are their most important asset. If that is true, then developing the human capital you already have must take top priority. We help organizations enhance employee development working at multiple levels within the organization.

For leaders and employees being considered for leadership positions, we deliver leadership training based on the latest evidence-based research on the topic. We enhance teams by utilizing our own valid assessment to identify pain points that allow us to directly address areas of concern. For individual development, we provide individualized coaching that is not only driven by assessment results, but also considers the unique contribution each employee wishes to provide to the organization. And for all of your employees, we assess areas of employee engagement, we share those results with employees, and we develop action plans to address areas that need attention.

Simply put, at Marcus Management Consultants, LLC, we develop employees at all levels of an organization by identifying your employees’ strengths and areas of improvements to maximize the productivity and performance potential that already exists within your organization.

Leadership Training

If employees are the most important component to a business, then there are few areas that are worth investing more than Leadership Development. There’s a difference between being a boss and being a leader – bosses might get the job done now, but true leaders take their companies to the next level.

We “translate” the best and latest research in leadership into workshops that are easily understood by employees. In this way, you are getting content that has been scientifically proven to be related to leadership – not some leadership “theory” espoused by someone who may or may not have had any experience being a leader, as happens so often with leadership programs.

We have also developed a number of workshops designed to develop leaders. These workshops are short, quick-hitting workshops designed to help organizational leaders get the most out of their employees. Some examples of our workshops include the following:

  • Beyond Diversity: Civility in the Workplace
  • Conducting Job Interviews: Tips, Processes and Practice
  • Conflict Resolution
  • Critical Thinking and Effective Decision Making
  • Developing and Coaching Employees
  • Effective Communication
  • Employment Law Issues
  • Handling Difficult Employees
  • Giving Negative Feedback
  • Goal Setting
  • Power of Thank You
  • Role Modeling

Team Building

Improving team building and cohesion can lead to substantial outcomes for organizations, such as increased team and individual job satisfaction, team and organizational commitment, and organizational performance. High team cohesion is also related to lower turnover and absenteeism.

We build teams by first administering our Team Cohesion Inventory (TCI™), which assesses perceptions of team productivity and collaboration among intact workgroups. The TCI™ is comprised of six factors of Team Cohesion: Team Productivity, Team Trust & Affection, Team Information Sharing, Feeling Valued, and Supervisor, and Personal Relationships. The TCI™ contains 40 items and takes about seven minutes to complete. The TCI™ has been validated on over 600 employees and has an abundant evidence of reliability and validity.

Results from the TCI™ can be used to pinpoint sources of low team cohesion which then can be addressed through customized team building interventions. These interventions may include enhancing workgroup civility, individual and team coaching, improving workgroup communication and conflict management, and other team building strategies.

The TCI™ allows workgroups to establish a new understanding of team interactions, roles, and responsibilities. Although the TCI™ can be used in workgroups of any size and supervisory or non-supervisory levels, it is recommended for workgroups consisting of at least four employees.

Executive and Team Coaching

Unlike some executive coaching that involves personal issues that may impact behavior at home as well in the work environment, our executive coaching focuses on improving organizational productivity. Instead of relying on personality theories that may or may not have been developed on a normal population (and that most certainly were never developed in the context of organizational interactions), we rely on tried-and-true organizational theories and principles that help your executives and teams perform better.

We take our knowledge of organizational functioning and construct customized leadership development plans that make the most of the human capital you already have. Our comprehensive approach includes applying scientifically valid assessments to aid in designing group training and individualized coaching sessions. By identifying your employees’ strengths and areas of improvement, we can maximize the productivity and performance potential that already exists within your organization.
